This week, in coffee:
- Kenya’s coffee sector is in chaos after the government shut the Nairobi Coffee Exchange and suspended all marketing and brokerage licenses.
- Lavazza, a multi-billion-dollar company that benefits from the complexities and power imbalances of the global coffee supply chain, is not happy with the EU’s imminent anti-deforestation legislation because the complexities of the coffee supply chain makes traceability difficult.
- It’s hard to find affordable coffee in Paris, so why not use the city council’s long-running, crowd-sourced map of establishments offering an espresso for €1.
- And, can coffee make you happy? Ehhh.
